Coalition Pushes EPA To Reconsider Limits On Higher Ethanol Blends
Dave VanderGriend’s editorial on Ted Cruz featured in Iowa newspaper
A recent opinion piece in an Iowa newspaper regarding the Texas connection between Ted Cruz and Congressman Steve King missed the mark on several important points as it relates to ethanol.
That prompted Urban Air Initiative President Dave VanderGriend to write a response titled ‘Cruz enlightened, forward-thinking on ethanol’. It was published Christmas Eve in the Daily Times Herald.
The editorial points out a fundamental misunderstanding regarding Cruz, which is the accusation that he dismisses ethanol and has not taken the time to understand it. However, Dave VanderGriend has had several meetings with Senator Cruz in an effort to get him to support ethanol. While Cruz is anti RFS, he’s not against ethanol at all.
In fact, VanderGriend says his discussions with the Senator have been positive in helping him see that the real challenge for ethanol is getting access to the consumer through a fair and open market.
