Why Fixourfuel Exists
Fuel is easy to ignore until the price moves or a rule changes. Fixourfuel exists to explain how energy reaches homes and vehicles, and what is shifting in the way both are powered.
Coverage is divided into four areas, each written for people who want the mechanism explained and the claims weighed.
Accuracy and updates
Each article is built around a primary source such as a regulator, a manufacturer specification, a dataset or a published study. Numbers are rechecked when they date, and unclear claims are labeled as unclear.
The four areas
Energy. This section looks at how power and fuel are produced, priced and delivered, from grids and storage to supply questions. It prefers a clear description of the system to a headline number.
Transport. Cars, freight, transit and the fuels behind them are discussed in terms of cost, range and everyday use. Comparisons name their assumptions so a reader can see what applies to their own situation.
Clean Technology. New equipment and methods are examined for what they do today, not only for what they promise. Where a technology is early or unproven, the piece says so.
Environment. Environmental coverage connects energy and transport choices to air, land and water. It separates measured outcomes from estimates and from advocacy.
The audience
Drivers, homeowners and curious readers will find it useful, particularly those weighing a switch from one fuel or system to another.
Fixourfuel will get things wrong now and then. Write to [email protected] with the page and what looks off, and we will look into it and fix what is confirmed.
